All Heritage Insight archaeological personnel are qualified archaeologists with experience in the conduct of heritage management projects for a diverse range of clients.

























Bianca is an archaeologist qualified in both historic andAboriginal archaeology and material culture conservation. She has over 25 years’ of professional experience in Victoria, South Australia and NSW, as well as professional conservation and museum experience in Australia and the US.
Bianca has undertaken a wide variety of projects throughout her career, and along with her role as Heritage Insight’s Director, she specialises in the management of large-scale cultural heritage projects, in particular projects associated with the renewable energy sector and the Environment Effects Statement process.

Andrew Morris meets the Minister's Guidelines for Heritage Advisor Qualifications and Experience under section 189 of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours majoring in archaeology, is a full international member of ICOMOS, and has been engaged in heritage management in southeast Australia since 2007. Andrew has participated in commercial and research projects in Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania andWestern Australia, and Cyprus since 2007.

Luke is an archaeologist and heritage advisor with over 15 years’ of professional experience. He has diverse experience in cultural heritage management, heritage policy and stakeholder consultation with interests in the fields of heritage law, landscape archaeology, and earth science.
As well as his expertise in cultural heritage management and the application of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 to a wide variety of developments and infrastructure projects, Luke has carried out heritage negotiations and CHMP evaluations on behalf of a Registered Aboriginal Party.

Wendy oversees Heritage Insight’s dedicated historical heritage team and is an accomplished heritage practitioner with a proven record of successful project management and heritage outcomes. She has managed numerous large-scale heritage projects, including archaeological projects in Melbourne’s CBD, and complex heritage assessments across Melbourne’s suburban fringe and in regional Victoria. Wendy is particularly skilled in the assessment and management of projects incorporating complex heritage values, multiple stakeholders, and statutory protections at the local, State and Commonwealth level.

David is an experienced heritage consultant, archaeologist, and field supervisor specialising in complex field programs. With over seven years’ experience as a heritage professional, David has been fortunate to take part in a number of major projects (Aboriginal and historical) from the Murray River to East Gippsland, including an extended period as Site Director of eight Victorian Heritage Inventory (VHI) sites inMelbourne’s CBD for the Melbourne Metro Rail Project. David is particularly skilled in the logistical management of large-scale historical archaeological investigations, including the co-ordination of project teams.

Daniel is a senior project archaeologist and heritage advisor with formal qualifications and over ten years’ experience in Aboriginal and historical archaeology in Victoria. His role incorporates the preparation of CHMPs, Cultural Heritage Permits, PAHTs, archaeological salvage reports, due diligence reports and letters of heritage advice, as well as fieldwork responsibilities, cultural material analysis and site registration. Daniel is experienced in historical archaeological excavation and survey, as well as the registration of Victorian HeritageInventory (VHI) sites, the preparation of VHI consents and Victorian HeritageRegister (VHR) permits.

Jess is a senior project archaeologist and heritage advisor with qualifications and experience in historical and Aboriginal archaeology in Victoria. Her role incorporates the preparation of a wide range of heritage assessments, as well as undertaking fieldwork, cultural material analysis, data compilation and site registration. Jess is experienced in historic archaeological excavation and survey, as well as the registration of Victorian Heritage Inventory (VHI) sites, the preparation ofVHI consents and Victorian Heritage Register (VHR) permits, and she is also Heritage Insight’s Parks Victoria liaison.

Shannah is a senior archaeologist and heritage advisor with over nine years of professional experience in Aboriginal and historical archaeology in Victoria. Her role incorporates the management and preparation of Cultural Heritage Management Plans, Cultural Heritage Permits, Preliminary Aboriginal Heritage Tests and due diligence reports as well as project management, cultural material analysis, data compilation and site registration. She has also participated in several seasons of fieldwork at various international archaeological sites in Israel andVanuatu that included advanced fieldwork techniques.

Monique is a senior project archaeologist and heritage advisor with formal qualifications in archaeology and over six years’ professional experience in Indigenous and historical archaeology in Victoria. Their role incorporates the preparation of CHMPs,Cultural Heritage Permits, and PAHTs, in addition to fieldwork, cultural material analysis, and management of large and complex projects. Monique is also experienced in historic archaeological excavation, including the cataloguing and analysis of historic artefact assemblages. Monique’s research interests centre on archaeomalacology, community engagement, and interpretive displays.

Grace is a senior project archaeologist and heritage advisor with experience in historical and Aboriginal archaeology in Australia and abroad. She has over nine years’ experience working in the Victorian heritage sector preparing Cultural Heritage Management Plans,Cultural Heritage Permits, Preliminary Aboriginal Heritage Tests, and due diligence reports as well as fieldwork responsibilities, cultural material analysis, data compilation, and site registration.

Georgia is a project archaeologist and heritage advisor with qualifications and experience in Aboriginal and historical archaeology in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, and Victoria.Georgia’s role incorporates the preparation of Cultural Heritage Management Plans and Cultural Heritage Permits, in addition to fieldwork responsibilities, inductions, desktop research, report preparation, cultural material analysis, data compilation and site registration.

Tom is a project archaeologist and heritage advisor with qualifications and experience in historical and Aboriginal archaeology, who has been employed in commercial archaeology in Australia and Britain for more than seven years. Tom has experience in the survey, excavation, and recording of complex archaeological sites, including historic urban sites and large-scale archaeological surveys for historic and Aboriginal heritage. His current role incorporates participation and management of fieldwork projects, data compilation, artefact cataloguing and analysis, preparation of heritage assessment reports, and preparation of statutory approval documents.

Eleanor is a project archaeologist and heritage advisor with experience in historical and Aboriginal archaeology in Australia. Eleanor has been working in the Victorian heritage sector since 2021. Her role includes the preparation of Cultural Heritage Management Plans,Cultural Heritage Permits, Preliminary Aboriginal Heritage Tests in addition to fieldwork responsibilities. Eleanor has supervised and undertaken fieldwork throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria, including Aboriginal and historic excavations and surveys. Eleanor also has experience in mollusc analysis.

Tess is a project archaeologist and heritage advisor with experience in both historical and Aboriginal heritage sites throughout South Australia and Victoria. She has been a registered Heritage Advisor with VAHR since August 2021. Tess has international experience working in Malta on a number of Roman villa sites, and in Ireland on burial grounds, conflict archaeology sites, and medieval built heritage.

Anthony is an archaeologist and heritage advisor qualified in both historic and pre-contact Australian archaeology. He has over eleven years of professional archaeological experience in Victoria and New South Wales, as well as volunteer archaeological experience in the UK. Anthony has previously worked extensively as a freelance archaeologist for various companies and has undertaken a wide variety of projects throughout his career. He specialises in the supervision of large and small-scale complex assessment and salvage projects, working with Indigenous communities, and also working with other stakeholders such as developers and landowners.

Katerina is a Technical Archaeologist and heritage advisor with over seven years of experience in field archaeology in Australia and theUK collectively. Katerina holds qualifications and experience in Aboriginal cultural heritage and historical archaeology, as well as in museums and collections management in Australia and internationally.
Katerina’s role incorporates fieldwork responsibilities, ethnographic and historical desktop research, cultural material analysis and data compilation. Katerina also engages in fieldwork throughout Victoria (including surveys, sub-surface testing, excavation, and site documentation), assistance with artefact analysis and cataloguing, and assistance with preparation for field projects.

Meg is a technical archaeologist and heritage advisor, she has over four years of archaeological experience in NSW, the ACT, Victoria, and internationally in Vanuatu. Her professional experience includes both historical and Aboriginal cultural heritage, from consultation and fieldwork to data compilation and report production. Meg's responsibilities encompass comprehensive data management, cultural material analysis, fieldwork and ethnographic and historical research. Meg actively participates in field operations across Victoria, conducting surveys, sub-surface testing, excavation, and site documentation, as well as conducting artefact cataloguing and analysis and field project.

Peter is a technical archaeologist and heritage advisor with formal qualifications in archaeology. He has over seven years’ professional experience in archaeology, with four years in British archaeology and over three years in Aboriginal and historical archaeology in Victoria. His role primarily involves conducting fieldwork, including standard and complex assessments for CHMPs, as well as salvage excavations. Additionally, Peter assists with desk based tasks such as compiling fieldwork data, analysing cultural material, preparing site registrations and report writing.

Alexandra has over two years’ professional experience in Victorian Aboriginal archaeology and heritage management. Alexandra’s technical skills include artefact analysis and cataloguing, data compilation, and ethnographic and historical research. Alexandra has fieldwork experience across Victoria including and sub-surface excavation, and field survey and site recording. Alexandra has also authored induction booklets and undertaken monitoring of works on historic archaeology.

Bridget is currently completing a Master of Archaeology at La Trobe University, with a focus on Victorian Aboriginal cultural heritage. She has developed skills in lithic analysis, faunal analysis, and GIS, and has completed both archaeological and palaeontological field schools as well as lab work. While continuing to build her expertise in cultural heritage practice, Bridget’s professional responsibilities include fieldwork, artefact analysis, research support and data composition.

Katarina is an archaeologist qualified in historic and Aboriginal archaeology with over 20 years of professional experience in connection with a range of projects in Victoria, NSW and Western Australia. Katarina is responsible for the management of Heritage Insight’s GIS mapping projects and data outputs for reports and site registrations.
Katarina has worked extensively with ESRI ArcGIS software and has sound knowledge of data conversion for CAD, raster and database formats, including geo-referencing of files to produce high quality professional maps.

Rista von Benecke is an experienced Geospatial Information Scientist (GIS). Rista's experience includes analysing Human Geographic Data for the Australian Defence Group as well as managing GIS for renewable energy construction groups across Victoria. Rista has a background in Science and Graphic Design, both providing excellent insight in managing scientific data and presenting user friendly mapping solutions for analysis by stakeholders. Her current role is in presenting geographic maps for the Historic and Aboriginal Heritage teams.

Heritage Insight’s Business Manager, Anna Cansdell, brings over 20 years of finance, HR & administrative experience from a variety of industries to Heritage Insight. Anna manages the internal financial operations and works closely with the Operations Manager Jackie Donegan in relation to fieldwork and scheduling.

Heritage Insight’s Operations Manager, Jackie Donegan, brings a wealth of financial experience and no-nonsense practicality to the organisation and implementation of fieldwork and consultation, as well as in the preparation of quotations and tender submissions. Jackie has worked with Heritage Insight since the company’s inception, which has given her a wealth of experience across all aspects of the business.
