Bianca is an archaeologist qualified in both historic and Aboriginal archaeology and material culture conservation. She has over twenty years of professional experience in Victoria, South Australia and NSW, as well as professional conservation and museum experience in Australia and the US.
Bianca has undertaken a wide variety of projects throughout her career, and along with her role as Heritage Insight’s Director, she specialises in the management of large-scale cultural heritage projects, in particular projects associated with the renewable energy sector and the Environment Effects Statement process.
Andrew is an archaeologist and heritage advisor with over fifteen years of professional experience in commercial and research projects in Victoria, New South Wales, and Tasmania, and Cyprus. In Victoria, Andrew has managed all facets of heritage on major infrastructure and development projects for both private and government sectors, and has worked collaboratively with Traditional Owners groups from across the State. Andrew specialises in achieving positive outcomes for projects with a wide range of competing interests.
Luke is an archaeologist and heritage advisor with over twelve years of professional experience. He has diverse experience in cultural heritage management, heritage policy and stakeholder consultation with interests in the fields of heritage law, landscape archaeology, and earth science.
As well as his expertise in cultural heritage management and the application of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 to a wide variety of developments and infrastructure projects, Luke has carried out heritage negotiations and CHMP evaluations on behalf of a Registered Aboriginal Party.
Wendy oversees Heritage Insight’s dedicated historical heritage team and is an accomplished heritage practitioner with a proven record of successful project management and heritage outcomes. She has managed numerous large-scale heritage projects, including archaeological projects in Melbourne’s CBD, and complex heritage assessments across Melbourne’s suburban fringe and in regional Victoria. Wendy is particularly skilled in the assessment and management of projects incorporating complex heritage values, multiple stakeholders, and statutory protections at the local, State and Commonwealth level.
David is a senior archaeologist and heritage advisor specialising in complex archaeological investigations and the assessment of historic heritage. With over six years professional experience, David has taken part in a number of major projects (both Aboriginal and historical heritage), including large-scale archaeological projects in Melbourne’s CBD, and regional heritage assessments. As a senior member of Heritage Insight’s team, David’s role includes project management, built heritage and archaeological assessments, and the preparation of dry stone wall management plans.
Jess is a senior project archaeologist and heritage advisor with qualifications and experience in historical and Aboriginal archaeology in Victoria. Her role incorporates the preparation of a wide range of heritage assessments, as well as undertaking fieldwork, cultural material analysis, data compilation and site registration. Jess is experienced in historic archaeological excavation and survey, as well as the registration of Victorian Heritage Inventory (VHI) sites, the preparation of VHI consents and Victorian Heritage Register (VHR) permits, and she is also Heritage Insight’s Parks Victoria liaison.
Shannah is a senior archaeologist and heritage advisor with over nine years of professional experience in Aboriginal and historical archaeology in Victoria. Her role incorporates the management and preparation of Cultural Heritage Management Plans, Cultural Heritage Permits, Preliminary Aboriginal Heritage Tests and due diligence reports as well as project management, cultural material analysis, data compilation and site registration. She has also participated in several seasons of fieldwork at various international archaeological sites in Israel and Vanuatu that included advanced fieldwork techniques.
Simon Coxe is a senior archaeologist and heritage advisor. Simon over sixteen years’ experience conducting a broad range of heritage management and research projects throughout Australia and the UK, with experience working in Victoria, Queensland (including Torres Strait), Western Australia, the Northern Territory and New South Wales, as well as regularly conducting research in Papua New Guinea.
Simon specialises in the management of complex projects involving large field teams and complex datasets, as well as projects associated with the renewable energy sector.
Katarina is an archaeologist qualified in historic and Aboriginal archaeology with over nineteen years of professional experience in connection with a range of projects in Victoria, NSW and Western Australia. Katarina is responsible for the management of Heritage Insight’s GIS mapping projects and data outputs for reports and site registrations.
Katarina has worked extensively with ESRI ArcGIS software and has sound knowledge of data conversion for CAD, raster and database formats, including geo-referencing of files to produce high quality professional maps.
Monique is a project archaeologist with formal qualifications in archaeology and four years of professional experience in Aboriginal and historical archaeology in Victoria, including fieldwork, report preparation, and database management. They have also worked internationally on archaeological research expeditions, including Slovakia and ongoing research projects in Georgia. Her research interests centre on archaeomalacology, conflict archaeology, and community participation.
Grace is a project archaeologist with experience in historical and Aboriginal archaeology as well as archaeological conservation in Australia and overseas. She has six years of professional experience working in the Victorian heritage sector preparing, a range of heritage assessments, including Cultural Heritage Management Plans, Preliminary Aboriginal Heritage Tests, and due diligence reports, as well as fieldwork responsibilities, cultural material analysis, data compilation, and site registration.
Tess is a project archaeologist with experience in both historical and Aboriginal heritage sites throughout South Australia and Victoria. She has two years of professional experience in the heritage industry, and her role involves the preparation of a range of heritage assessments including CHMPs and due diligence reports, as well as fieldwork responsibilities, cultural material analysis, data compilation, and site registration.
Thomas is a project archaeologist with qualifications and experience in historical and Aboriginal archaeology, who has been employed in commercial archaeology in Australia and Britain for more than six years. Thomas has experience in the survey, excavation, and recording of complex archaeological sites, including historic urban sites and large-scale archaeological surveys for historic and Aboriginal heritage. His current role incorporates participation and management of fieldwork projects, data compilation, artefact cataloguing and analysis, preparation of heritage assessment reports, and preparation of statutory approval documents.
Eleanor is a project archaeologist with experience in historical and Aboriginal archaeology inAustralia. She has over two years’ experience working in the Victorian heritage sector. Her role incorporates the preparation of Cultural Heritage Management Plans,Cultural Heritage Permits, Preliminary Aboriginal Heritage Tests in addition to fieldwork responsibilities and data compilation. Eleanor has supervised and undertaken fieldwork throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria, includingAboriginal and historic excavations and surveys. Eleanor also has experience in cultural material and mollusc analysis.
Georgia is a technical archaeologist with qualifications and experience in Aboriginal and historical archaeology in Victoria, NSW and the ACT. Georgia’s role incorporates background research, archaeological fieldwork, cultural material analysis and cataloguing, data compilation, and report writing. Georgia has taken part in a wide range of fieldwork including surveys, sub-surface testing, and site documentation and provides assistance with both Aboriginal and historical artefact analysis and cataloguing.
Lana is a technical archaeologist with qualifications and experience in both Aboriginal and historic archaeology in Victoria. Lana coordinates the Heritage Insight technical team, in addition to conducting fieldwork, desktop research, cultural material analysis, GIS mapping, and data compilation duties. Lana has undertaken fieldwork in Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales and Nepal with responsibilities including the management of spatial and geophysical survey and analysis, section illustration, excavation, recording oral history, stone artefact cataloguing and analysis, research assistance, and remote fieldwork planning.
Anthony is an archaeologist qualified in both historical and Aboriginal archaeology. He has over seven years of professional experience in Victoria and NSW, as well as archaeological experience in the UK. Anthony has undertaken a wide variety of projects throughout his career. He specialises in the supervision of both large- and small-scale field projects, working with Traditional Owners and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. Anthony is also experienced in conducting background research, cultural material analysis, and the preparation of heritage reports.
Noah is a technical archaeologist with experience conducting archaeological excavations across Victoria. Noah’s experience includes material and data analysis, ethnographic and historical research, and the preparation of technical reports. His role incorporates background research, archaeological surveys, sub-surface excavation, cultural material analysis and cataloguing and data compilation. He values close working relations with Traditional Owners and other stakeholder groups across Victoria to achieve positive outcomes.
Katerina is a TechnicalArchaeologist with over seven years of experience in field archaeology inAustralia and the UK collectively. Katerina holds qualifications and experience in Aboriginal cultural heritage and historical archaeology, as well as in museums and collections management in Australia and internationally.
Katerina’s role incorporates fieldwork responsibilities, ethnographic and historical desktop research, cultural material analysis and data compilation. Katerina also engages in fieldwork throughout Victoria (including surveys, sub-surface testing, excavation, and site documentation), assistance with artefact analysis and cataloguing, and assistance with preparation for field projects.
Meg has four years of archaeological experience in NSW, the ACT, Victoria, and internationally inVanuatu. Her professional experience includes both historical and Aboriginal cultural heritage, from consultation and fieldwork to data compilation and report production. Meg's responsibilities encompass comprehensive data management, cultural material analysis, fieldwork and ethnographic and historical research. Meg actively participates in field operations across Victoria, conducting surveys, sub-surface testing, excavation, and site documentation, as well as conducting artefact cataloguing and analysis and field project.
Peter is a technical archaeologist with formal qualifications in archaeology. He has four years of professional fieldwork experience in British archaeology, and over two years of professional fieldwork experience in Aboriginal and historical archaeology in Victoria. His role primarily involves conducting fieldwork, including standard and complex assessments for CHMPs, as well as salvage excavations. Additionally, Peter assists with digitising and compiling data gathered from fieldwork including cultural material analysis.
Rista von Benecke is an experienced Geospatial Information Scientist (GIS). Rista's experience includes analysing Human Geographic Data for the Australian Defence Group as well as managing GIS for renewable energy construction groups across Victoria. Rista has a background in Science and Graphic Design, both providing excellent insight in managing scientific data and presenting user friendly mapping solutions for analysis by stakeholders. Her current role is in presenting geographic maps for the Historic and Aboriginal Heritage teams.
Heritage Insight’s Business Manager, Anna Cansdell, brings over 20 years of finance, HR & administrative experience from a variety of industries to Heritage Insight. Anna manages the internal financial operations and works closely with the Operations Manager Jackie Donegan in relation to fieldwork and scheduling.
