Heritage Insight has been involved with the Victorian renewable energy sector since 2009, undertaking a range of Aboriginal and historical assessments for many of the State’s most significant renewable projects.
Some of the most notable of these are:
In addition to conducting the CHMPs for these projects, we have also conducted ancillary CHMPs and assessments associated with road and intersection upgrades needed to support the primary projects, as well as external transmission line development. Heritage Insight has also worked with Registered Aboriginal Parties (RAPs) to develop cultural values assessments associated with renewable projects, and we have managed both the Aboriginal and historical heritage components of the Environment Effects Statement process for both the Golden Plains and Warracknabeal projects, two of the largest and most important renewable projects proposed in Victoria.
These projects have allowed us to develop a range of systems and processes tailored specifically to the renewable energy sector, based on our understanding of the inherent nature of these projects, including the fact that wind farm layouts and transmission line alignments are usually subject to change both before and after statutory processes are complete.
