The historic property had been chosen the event's new location for a range of natural features, including a natural amphitheatre. The property falls within the Registered Aboriginal Party boundaries of both the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation and the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation, and separate CHMPs were prepared for each of these areas.

CHMP works included standard assessment (surface survey) and complex assessment (sub-surface testing), as well as collaborative efforts between the Sponsor of the CHMPs, the RAPs and Heritage Insight in order to minimise and avoid impacts to Aboriginal cultural material as a result of the festival. The festival at Barunah Plains was held on New Year's Eve 2022.
