In 2022 Heritage Insight was engaged by Stockland to undertake an Historical Heritage Assessment for a proposed residential development at Beveridge.

The study area for this assessment was in excess of 156 hectares. The assessment included desktop historic research, a review of current heritage listings and statutory protections, and a field survey.

Within the study area there are a number of historic archaeological sites and historic buildings protected on the State Heritage Register, Heritage Inventory and the local Heritage Overlay. Part of the assessment included a review of the heritage significance of these places and consultation with Heritage Victoria on order to devise plans for future management of the sites. The resulting report included a series of recommendations and conditions designed to assist Stockland with forward planning, including statutory approvals for the development. Heritage Insight's historic team are currently engaged in providing on-going heritage advice to Stockland regarding the management of historic heritage within the development, and in the preparation of statutory Consent applications to Heritage Victoria.
